IAgSA Council Members
Tim Cartwright, Chairman

Tim has recently set up Buckland Accounts Services and works as a freelance book-keeper in the north Devon area having recently moved from Leamington Spa where he was Accounts Manager for Ray Gasson & Associates based at Hook Norton.
Many of you will know Tim from his work as a Software Support/Trainer for HN/Farmplan specialising in Accounts, Payroll and Property program training and support.
Tim was brought up on the family farm in Lincolnshire and has always worked in jobs connected with agriculture, and specifically accounts for the last 16 years. Tim completed his AAT qualifications in 2005, and has served on Council for 5 years as Treasurer, having been an IAgSA member for over 30 years!
Having been involved with the Institute for so long he is very keen to see it grow in membership and recognition within the industry.
Billie Johnson, Vice Chairman and IAgSA Government Liasion Representative
Billie Johnson is the Council member responsible for Government liaison, and she has been invaluable to the Institute due to her attendance at the RPA Stakeholder meetings. She is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and has been a member of IAgSA since 1986. Billie is a partner in Ellam Oxtoby & Peck; a farm business consultancy and accountancy practice operating on the outskirts of Oxford and near Tiverton in Devon.
Ann Davies, IAgSA Bulletin Editor & Membership Panel Representative
Ann Davies has worked as a self-employed farm administrator in Worcestershire for over 25 years as well as Editor for the IAgSA Monthly Bulletin for over 20 years. Ann qualified at Usk College of Agriculture and part-time at Dorset College of Agriculture. Her clients range from a small suckler herd of Red Poll cattle (expecting a visit from the Red Poll World Congress in June) to 2000 acre arable farm, from a planning consultant to a farmer developing a drill (to be launched at Cereals).
Ros Foreman - IAgSA Marketing & PR Representive
Ros is a Partner of BCM Bays Curry McCowen, Rural Asset Management based in Hampshire but also working in Wiltshire, Dorset, Oxford and Sussex. They are responsible for 150 clients on aspects of management, book-keeping and general land agency matters. Ros has worked in the industry for over 20 years, and has been co-opted onto Council having put herself forward following the 2009 conference in Lancaster.
Sue Gillbard - IAgSA Farming Charities Representative
At the age of 36, Sue decided that she didn’t want to simply feed calves and bed stock for the rest of her life and so she signed up for a business course at Duchy College at Callington. She set up her business once this was completed and soon had a client base of 46 farmers. She now completes 70 Single Farm Payments forms each year and she does the book-keeping for 11 businesses. Sue was co-opted onto Council in March 2009, having put herself forward following the 2009 conference in Lancaster.
Marty Handley - IAgSA Membership Panel Representative
Marty originates from the town but has been farming since 1980. To help subsidise the farm income, she did her City and Guilds Phase III in Farm Accounts and in 1996 started out as a part time farm secretary. Following joining IAgSA, she set up and became chairman of the Lancashire branch in 2003. She has a range of rural businesses as clients, and her work covers all aspects of their administration
Andrea Gardner, IAgSA CPD & Training Programme Representative
Andrea was brought up on a family dairy farm on the Fylde in Lancashire, and after school worked there for 6 years whilst setting up her own farming business. Andrea then went on to work as the farm secretary for her local agricultural college farm and after 11 years Andrea then moved to the Rural Business Centre at Myerscough College to work on Farm Demonstration events, Vocational Training and Short Courses for Farmers. Andrea now works as Enterprise Manager at the College. As a farm secretary Andrea now has a small number of farming clients and breeds Pedigree Suffolk Sheep; demonstrating the benefits of genetic improvement using estimated breeding values. Andrea is FACTS Qualified and was a tutor for the City & Guilds Rural Business Administration Course and now latterly involved in the new training programme for IAgSA members and CPD.
Jerilynn Emms, Treasurer
In 1999 Jeri studied at Lackam College of Agriculture as a Farm Secretary. She became a Student Member of IAgSA whilst at college but only became an active member in November 2005 when she became self-employed. She gained her AAT qualification in 2006 and is currently Gloucester IAgSA Branch Treasurer. Whilst horses remain on the back burner for now, her hobbies include the gym & clay pigeon shooting.
Sally Lemonius, IAgSA Money Laundering Representative
My father owned an arable farm on the Isle of Wight from 1973. I returned to live on the Island full time in 1985 and began working as a farm secretary on a mixed arable & dairy farm. I am now Company Secretary of an Investment Company within the same group, working in London and on the Isle of Wight and also look after the book-keeping and records for 3 farms, 2 other businesses and the arable records of a contractor.
I have been Chairman and Secretary of the Thames and Test branch in the past and am a great promoter of training and CPD.
Cathy Meredith, IAgSA Industry Training Representative
In 1999 Cathy became Projects Co-ordinator at Holme Lacy College working on rural projects and is currently working as Co-ordinator for Herefordshire Rural Hub. The Rural Hub provides support and sign posting for rural businesses in the Herefordshire area and is part of the wider Rural Hubs-West Midlands network. Cathy is responsible for the development of industry training and has been at the forefront of new IAgSA training programme with Andrea Gardner.
The council is also supported by other co-opted members who give us vital links to outside bodies such as the NFU, the colleges, DEFRA and Natural England. We are very grateful for their support and guidance which is vital if we are to have a full picture of our industry.
